Heather Anna Cantua

Heather Cantua has spent her career helping companies build financial products that didn't exist before. She started as a litigator, defending financial institutions against class actions alleging regulatory violations.

In 2015, she took an opportunity to shape new products being built as product counsel at LendingClub, building the bank partnership origination model, supporting partnerships, and managing litigation.

In 2017, Heather joined Unison as Associate General Counsel — one of the first home equity investment companies. There, she helped build the legal infrastructure for a product category from the inside, advising on licensing and regulatory strategy, the customer journey and dispute resolution.

In 2020, she left to become a founding Partner at Scale LLP, where she has built a practice helping builders launch new fintech products and scale. Her clients include home equity investment companies, consumer and commercial lenders, and fintech platforms.

Nancy Lee

Nancy Lee has been in the driver’s seat when fintech products launch — as in-house counsel at MoneyLion, Bread (now Bread Financial) and Spring Free EV.

She knows what founders actually need when a product is scaling: the governance questions, the investor pressures, the operational complexity.

Before Nancy went in-house, she was a financial regulatory attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.

At Scale LLP, Nancy works alongside Heather on blueprint analysis, corporate governance, and contract intelligence for home equity investment companies, payments companies, and other fintech providers, bringing builder-side instincts to the regulatory work that matters most.
